Gizmoop vs ProperSoft
Desktop conversion software, sold as credits rather than a subscription. Long-established, with a tool per format.
Pick ProperSoft if…
Choose ProperSoft if your policy requires that files never leave the machine, or if you convert rarely enough that a subscription cannot be justified.
Pick Gizmoop if…
Choose us if you want the arithmetic checked as well as the conversion done, work across more than one machine, or convert enough that per-page pricing wins.
Published prices
Monthly prices are not comparable when the allowances differ, so the per-page rate is worked out from each vendor’s own published numbers.
| Tool | Plan | Per month | Pages | Per page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ProperSoft | Creditscredit pack | $11.00 | 100 | $0.110 |
| Gizmoop | Solo | $15.00 | 300 | $0.050 |
| Gizmoop | Practice | $39.00 | 900 | $0.043 |
| Gizmoop | Firm | $99.00 | 2,500 | $0.040 |
What ProperSoft does better
Your file never leaves your computer
Desktop software processes locally by definition. For a firm whose policy forbids client financial documents leaving the premises, that is not a preference, it is the requirement, and it is a genuinely strong reason to choose them.
No subscription
Credits do not expire the way a month does. If you convert four statements a year, paying per use is cheaper than any subscription including ours.
Years of format-specific tooling
They have separate products per conversion path and have maintained them for a long time. That is a lot of accumulated handling of formats most tools ignore.
Where we differ
Digital statements never leave your browser either
This is the comparison most people get wrong. A statement with a text layer — what your bank gives you when you download one — is read entirely in your browser here. Nothing is uploaded. Only a scanned statement, which has no text to read, is sent to a server, and the interface says so and asks first. So the privacy gap against desktop software is narrower than it looks.
Nothing to install, on any machine
No install, no per-machine licence, no Windows-only build. It works on whatever you are sitting at, including a client’s office.
Reconciliation built in
A converter that only converts leaves the checking to you. Every row here is checked against the statement’s running balance, and the ones that do not add up are flagged at the row with the source line shown.
Cheaper past a handful of statements
Their published pack is $11 for 100 pages, which is $0.11 a page. Our Solo plan is $15 for 300, at $0.05. Below about 130 pages a month theirs is cheaper; above it, ours is.
The thing we cannot offer
We are new. DocuClipper and ProperSoft have been doing this for years and have the reviews to show for it; we do not. What we can offer instead of a track record is a free tier big enough to test on your own statements — three pages a day without an account, ten a month with one — and a product that tells you when it is unsure rather than presenting every conversion as finished.
Questions
- Is desktop software safer?
- For scanned statements, yes — those are processed on our servers and on your own machine with theirs. For digital statements the difference is smaller than it appears, because those are read in your browser here and are not uploaded at all.
- What happens to my file after conversion?
- You decide. Retention runs from keeping nothing at all — the transactions are never written to the database — up to a year, and expired data is deleted daily. Deleting a statement yourself removes the stored PDF along with it.
- Do credits work out cheaper?
- Below roughly 130 pages a month, yes. Above it the per-page rate favours a subscription. It is worth doing that arithmetic on your own volume rather than on a marketing claim.
How this page was researched
Everything here about other tools was read from their own public pricing and marketing pages in September 2026. We did not create accounts, so nothing on this page claims anything about their accuracy, their output quality or their support — only about what they publish. Prices change; check theirs before deciding.
