Why we built this
Every time you needed to count words, compress an image, or convert a currency, you ended up on a site full of popups, signup walls, and "Pro" upgrades. We thought there had to be a better way.
So we built one. Gizmoop is a single home for the kind of small, useful tools the internet used to be full of, fast, free, and entirely private.
What we believe
Four things that shape every tool we ship.
Privacy by default
Every tool runs in your browser. Your data is yours, we never upload, log or sell it. Privacy isn't a feature, it's the foundation.
Speed is a feature
A tool that takes 5 seconds to load isn't free, it costs you time. We obsess over performance so you can blink and be done.
Simple, not stripped
Every tool should be obvious from the first second, with depth available when you need it. Power users get options, everyone else gets defaults.
Always free
No paywall, no premium tier, no "starting at $9/mo." Light, unobtrusive ads keep the servers on. That is the deal.
How we got here
The short version, from notebook to 50+ tools.
The idea
A frustrated Friday afternoon, a sticky note that read "why is every tool site so bad?", and a domain registration.
First tool, Word Counter
We shipped the Word Counter as a single page. It got 1,000 visits in a week. We added the Character Counter and Case Converter the next month.
20 tools, full redesign
By November we'd shipped 20 text tools. We rebuilt the site from scratch around a single design language, what you see today.
50+ tools, growing weekly
Image, calculator, converter and developer categories are next. We ship at least one new tool every week.
How we make money (and why it matters)
Free should mean free. Here is exactly how Gizmoop pays its server bills without compromising what makes the tools useful.
Light, unobtrusive ads
We display a small number of ads through Google AdSense, placed below the tool or between content sections, never inside the tool itself and never blocking your workflow. There is no popup, no auto-playing video, and no fake "close" button. If ads ever feel intrusive, please email us and we will review the placement.
What we will never do
We will never sell or rent your data, sneak in a paywall, throttle free users, run a "Pro" tier, ask you to refer friends to unlock features, or hold your saved drafts hostage. Every tool is the full version. Every user is treated equally. These commitments are not marketing copy, they are how we have operated since day one and what makes Gizmoop different from most tool sites.
What about premium tools later?
If we ever build a tool that genuinely costs money to run (for example, something with heavy AI inference costs), we will be transparent about it and offer a free tier first. The 50+ tools shipped today will remain free forever.
